Please note, I wrote this poem in 1985. Fuzz has been gone a long time. I only recently tossed the last of my paperback books that he had chewed the edges of.

Listen to poem:
What makes man not an animal? His sense of future I say What gives man all of his courage? forseeing his dying day What makes one man good and another bad? Its all subjective and unclear.... What gives life to the living and death sometimes to that I hold dear.... I gave a friend a burial just this week last He wasnt a human friend A cat, none the less He had no sense of the future and little of the past... For him life was for living Even though it went by him quite fast. I miss my friend the cat. What makes man not an animal? For Fuzzy Bear (C) Susan Manley 1985

a fabulous poem about your beloved furry friend, your cat. What I like about animals is what you alluded to...they live in the present with no worries about the future and not regrets about the past. They live in the present enhancing our daily lives. Sending heartfelt condolences your way. Blessings, Sara

So heartfelt and deep. Im so sorry for your loss, and sometimes they understand us more and their lives are so precious. If only we do too live life giving love like they do selflessly, everything yes is subjective, good and bad defined in various ways. Your poem made me think and feel alot. Sending you light today and always

Thanks Tom, I am actually posting a really old poem. I lost poor Fuzz in the 80s. I used to have a library of paperback books he had chewed the edges of. He was my pal.
