What Its Like

Oh, to walk again in the dew of the dawn,
With legs of youth and free;
To dodge the dogs or little challenges,
To breathe, to breathe, to breathe.

To recall the times of holding hands,
When holding hands was a tender act,
And meet your eyes with young hearted splendor,
To go back, go back, go back.

Now to adapt to the quiet rooms,
Life from visit of child to visit of child,
A pretty fleece blanket covering TV knees,
And doze, to doze, to doze.
