What Is Death

What is death but an unnatural word Nature’s call when living creatures are in need When released from pain, age and great difficulty Wishing what we had done or not done Hoping perhaps the next time we will evolve And become our wishes of goodness and care Power physical, chemical light and heat Evolving matter and living energy Rising to the universe we know not where Perhaps in the heaven's life forces may call From family, friends teachers and prophets From loving creatures dogs, horses and kittens Or the essence at the end changes and we know not how Yet we sense through the difficulties of life There is a kind of rest that is meant to be And finally comes
