What Is a Name

Is it simply a title or does it define? Does it influence who or what we become? Is it God's will for us to carry our chosen name? Does it have a special purpose of meaning? Does our surname truly give us status? A name can bring you torment . Should a name be given much thought? Should the name you carry be of your own choice? Be from your own mind and of your own imagination? Must it carry a stereotype? Is a name really necessary? Could we be identified any other way? Why call it a name? This is something I have recently pondered.
