WHAT IF?

WHAT IF?
What if you were the brightest star on the solstice night Would you feel antagonism from the sparkling maze? Or would Love dismiss uncertainty to the query you raise What if you were the softest snowflake gentling drifting down Hearing the soft gasp of exhilaration from Mother Earth with all ephemeral scepticism gone Would you be part of Love's united sound? Hearts submerged in Love do still entreat He loves me. He loves me not What if you were the last petal left? In a quandarous quagmire of uncertainty, you feel Would you experience a sense of reprieve or a sense of defeat? What if you were the most vital branch of an old Oak tree Gentling cradling a nest ever so sweet Would you also feel the Love of parenthood from the first baby tweet? What if you were a rock lost for words With Love cleansing you of earthly weight from a stream's soft gush? Would you abandon attachments with a tasteful rush? Feel in the sweet imprint of its absence, a comforting hush? What if you were the gentlest breeze that whispered and sighed Would you be a transient carrier of Love of a different kind? As the year draws her curtains at midnight's call What if you were that very last resolution you stall? When Love has found emotion in your daily inspirations The Rhyme to your Reason in Love's inspired aspirations What if the year ahead is all you've got Wouldn't you give it your very best shot? What if I could convince you to a mindset change? In a transitional challenge to rearrange words from… 'What If'~ to, 'I Will'.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL AND A WONDERFUL 2024 AND BEYOND

Maria, you have written this so brilliantly and well, I read it a few times...and loved it more each time. "What if" I never read this? It would be a shame, so glad I did. Happy New Year, dear friend. Hope 2024 brings happiness and smiles to you and your family. Hugs Charlie

sorry I missed your poem earlier. I liked it with its powerful message and intent. I wish more folks with change 'what if' (wishful thinking) to "I will.' Sound a lot more responsible and committed. Thanks for your words, Sara

Awesome poem Maria. Similar in theme to my latest, though I don't believe in the necessity of New Year resolutions. Just to be the best person we can be all year round, with few if any regrets. My fave line in this is: "The rhyme to your reason is love's inspired aspirations..." Love that John Denver song

Dear Maria always so nice to see you posting.. Your poem beautifully explores a series of "What if" scenarios, prompting reflection on the diverse aspects of life and love. Your use of vivid imagery and thoughtful questions engages the reader in a contemplative journey through various situations... The opening lines set a celestial tone, asking what it would be like to be the brightest star on the solstice night.. mindsets are not changed so easily though, as you know, as we believe differently.

The closing stanzas beautifully tie the poem together, contemplating the year's end and the resolution to approach life with determination. .. a thoughtful exploration of love, life, and the possibilities that each moment holds. The use of rhetorical questions, vivid imagery, and a motivational ending make it both introspective and uplifting... But dont get ya hopes up lol

Ah this is so beautiful dear maria, your beautiful and warm soul can be felt through this very uplifting poem which flows with so much wisdom and profound truth. Sometimes we just need to change our mindset, how we see things to change circumstances, which isnt easy to do. I love the questions throughout this which gives an introspective touch to your poem and the opening is so captivating, powerful yet delicately phrased in such an elegant manner, i love your use of nature to contemplate and

Your rhymes are brilliant and so catchy, creating a mellifluous cadence. I especially loved this “ As the year draws her curtains at midnight's call What if you were that very last resolution you stall” made me feel so much as its so fitting for the mood right now … while the year ends slowly, and i love the last line! Impeccable really! Pleasure always reading you, sending you light, Hope Christmas treats you well and new year treats you well too. This definitely is a fave for me

Wow, dear Maria! I'm awestruck by this magnificent piece which dwells in vivid dimensions of 'what if's' that paint a myriad tapestry of emotions, concluding the reveries of the year and the opportunities that could have been fruitioned whilst compelling us to steal every moment of worth and happiness in the coming year..And the highlight of 'LOVE' here truly enchanted my heart..You possess a beautiful and precious perspective towards life.. You've woven this impeccable tale with so much insight
