What If

What if Amadeus Mozart had a gameboy? Would his concerto have come to mind? What if Ludwig van Beethoven had a PS3? Would his ears be okay and his eyes gone blind? What if Vincent van Gogh had a digital camera? Would he have been a great photographer? What if Claude Monet had an PSP? Would his vision have still start to blur? What if Shakespeare had a computer? Would he write more plays with Word? What if Emily Dickinson had a Laptop? Would more than 7 poems have been heard? What if T. C. Cannon had Adobe Photoshop? Would he still create native history? What if I lived in their times? Would I still write my poetry?

I like hearing Beethoven and PS3 in the same sentence. Everytime you see a movie on these guys it's always a period piece so the technology has to fit the era. It's refreshing to see little Mozart with a gameboy. I almost want to scold him the way my mom did for playing video games when he should be writing symphonies.

Raul, this beautifully penned poem is awesome! Great questions to think about. I think you would be a great poet no matter what time period you lived in. It is in your soul to do so. Excellent write! Love, Robin

You have asked very interesting questions, I really like this poem, I would love to know the answers. It really makes one think. The great artists and musicians of this world might have been even greater with modern technology or perhaps so much might have been laid on for them that they might have lost lots some of their inspiration and not have enriched us as much. Déirdre Ó Maidín. Thanks for comments on my attempts at Haiku

I so agree with you Raul. I work with kids and they are constantly wired to something. How can God speak to them if they never have silence. Actually I think its getting almost as bad for adults. We are a sad people. Laurie
