"what He Lost"
“I’ve seen you before, in a distant time
Searching for what was lost, has it ever been found?”
“No, it is lost, buried deep within the ground”
“I’ve two shovels together we may dig,
Beneath every rock and every twig.”
“No, it is lost, not found by sight, nor by sound”
“Then we can feel, we can dig with our hands.
We will find it by faith and chance.”
“No, it is lost, no hands can feel it, no faith can guide us.”
“Then perhaps by logic, surely you remember when and where,
You lost this thing back then. Have you checked everywhere?”
“No, it is lost, it is of a time I can scarcely remember.”
“How can something be beyond our senses?
Perhaps we must look beyond those fences?”
“No, it is we who are lost, don’t you remember, we died last December”
