What Has Become of Us

We live in an age of constant change
but it's not a change for the better
if our grandparents could see us now
they wouldn't believe whatever the letter

In growing up in the early 60s
then life was so innocent indeed
a far change from today's perversion
as today's society thinks they're freed

God created this world as it began
but today's world rejects His law
changing godly traits for its worldliness
if only they feared God to be in awe

The plight that's come upon us
become so godless so full of sin
now judgment will come right on
sending us all in a spin

The great need for the hour's prayer
to plead with the Lord to intervene
calling on the great mercy of God
convert this world back to Eden's scene

We have become more concerned with Me than with Us. Take care, Gordon. I hope you are having a pleasant day. Shirley

Thanks Shirley, That's so very true indeed, so glad that you dropped in. Well, it's now dark cold, and wet here in Scotland. Gordon

Gordon, we were so lucky to be brought up in the sixties. I was just talking to my husband yesterday about this very thing. I thought of the allies and the strong fight that had recently been fought for freedoms before our generation. I imagine they would be tossing in their graves in sorrow, but they're not, they're in heaven. Our God didn't change, and though His judgment will come, He is still God, upon His throne. Someday He will restore, and peace will reign. Have a blessed week Gordon.

BJ, I totally agree with your thoughts indeed the sixties was really good looking back on it now though we didn't think much of it at the time but compared with all that's going on in our world today. Hope you're h saving a lovely day, it's wet cold and dark over here. Blessings always,Gordon

Mankind has certainly lost his way Gordon, selfishness and greed seems to be the norm these days with many turning there backs on him. They've had their reward and have had enough warnings too. Hope you're having a lovely weekend. Tom

Man's own hand was the hand of fate, He trusted us to look after his earth, a gift given once for eternity. You are so right Gordon. lf l gave someone such a wonderful gift and saw them mistreating it so, it would break my heart, yet, He is said to continue to love us. l know we created all this horror but l often wonder why He doesn't step in and stop the suffering that innocent people are enduring. He surely has the power?

Thanks Wendy, Glad you liked this piece and agreed with my sentiments too. Regarding the fact that God doesn't intervene to stop the suffering, well as Genesis says the Lord does everything right and one day he will call all of to account. Blessings always,Gordon

Your poem is very good, and needed. I ask God each night to help us help ourselves, for we got ourselves into this mess.
