What Easter Means To Me

By His wounds I am healed
He died on the cross for me
My sin never to be revealed
Was nailed to the tree

He died on the cross for me
So that I may have new life
Was nailed to the tree
Heart pierced to end my strife

So that I may have new life
My sin never to be revealed
Heart pierced to end my strife
By His wounds I am healed

Elaine, Thanks for supporting the Easter Contest! I believe what Robert is writing is true...the truth is...I don't need a name for a day to celebrate what Christ did in my heart and life. I don't believe u do either. Nonetheless, your poem is stirring and an outward reflection of what is occurring in your heart. Awesome. Gwendoln

Do you know that Christmas or Easter is not mentioned in the Bible, these are pagan holidays carried over from the Persia, Christmas is celebrated as the winter solcise, and easter is for the goddess of fertility? anyway, I truly like your effort and poetry, I'm putting you on my fav list because just because your passionate in your works, I can read into that Keep your works going and God bless

You have expressed your faith well in the pantoum form, Ellen. Christ sacrificed His life to grant mankind entry to eternal life. A wonderful entry for Gwendolen's contest! Love, Carolyn
