What Does It Mean To Suffer

Agony that never seems to end
Can’t find where one nightmare stops
And the other begins

The face in the mirror one I do not know
So hollow inside, seamlessly cold
Wracked with tears in a heap I lie
Hopelessly broken, lost, beyond tried

Barely surviving each second for breath
After all what’s the point, I feel nothing is left
Too blackened my sky to see the sun
All that held this simple soul
Has completely come undone

You ask what does it mean to suffer
I ask what does it mean to be free
Life doesn’t offer a buffer
To this damn wretched misery

to engage in breath is to suffer....because the pain of the flesh can't find cover....because all the heart desires is to truly remain pure....because through purity, there is no strife it can not endure....wonderful write Darla....;)
