What Do You See When You Visit the Past

What do you see when you visit the past? Do you see things and people who once gave you pleasure? Now memories to treasure, Or do you see a trail of bitter pills, To blame for all your current ills. When I visit the past, I see achievements I took for granted, That I understated, I see times I should have Loved, Not shoved. When I visit the past, I see the people who it was my good fortune to know, Who helped me to grow, I see landscapes that were pure, That are now obscure.
