What Breaks Your Heart
If someone were to ask me
What breaks your heart?
It won't take long to answer
Mothers sobbing, father sweeping
Terrified children no end
To their screaming
Hungry and homeless their lives
Horribly ravaged by crime or war
No end to their suffering
Treatment cruel and inhumane
Inflicted on those who don't
Worship the same way
A blind eye to their suffering
A deaf ear to their cries
A lack of empathy for their plight
This is the answer I will give
To the question what breaks your heart
If it doesn't break yours then
Your part of the problem
