Wet Sand

Playing on the beach,
Toes curled into the wet sand,
One hand shades her eyes;
Memories rise with the sun,
Years have passed since she was young.

I spend as much time at the beach as I can. And I'm not young. This speaks to me. Perfect picture. BG

You are so excellent at the Tanka form of poetry. Love the picture you so clearly painted, and love that 4th line. Gosh, my husband probably thinks the same thing. And me of him. But who cares as we are lucky to have had such memories and lucky to still be here. Love, Shar
