Welcome Autumn
Welcome autumn with your beautiful
colors and cool breezes ...
How I love you !
And all those swirling and drifting burnt orange
red, and gold leaves tumbling down . . .
some tattered and torn
some perfect and deep veined.
Time to lay down your golden gowns, dear trees !
And I,
must begin gathering a collection
to press within pages of my many old books.
Oh delight,
to open a book on a cold winter day
and have a beautiful leaf
fall out . . .
