Weeping Heart and a Lonely Star

I was gazing at the vast grey sky this evening
Slowly and heavily dark clouds were floating
As they were about to shed their tears weeping
My red watery eyes blinking
Suddenly saw you, through the clouds peeping
So bright and happily shinning

When no one is around don’t you feel lonely, or
Is it your sorrowful heart that is transformed to the clouds gloomy?
Have they absorbed your tears away from you quickly?
Is it how you can shine so brightly?
I too am so lonely; I feel my place is so small and empty
In this large world as large as your sky infinity

Yesterday to see us all came a lady pretty and kind
She lifted my face with her lovely fingers and smiled,
In between, her high sigh “oh!”I heard
When she saw my polio legs braced
She quickly passed me to hold the hand of my best friend
Tucking my friend in her arms smiled broad

At times I dream a mother whom I have never seen
When I am cold, how I crave for her cuddle with kisses on my cheeks
I sit in the verandah in my ‘home’ behind a screen
Seeing a father passing by with a laughing child holding an ice-cream
Oh! How I long for a father to hold my hand even in my dreams
Are you an orphan like me little star, though you gleam?

Do you wish for sisters and brothers when you are lonesome?
So that you can dance with them, sing with them
Play hide and seek among the wooly clouds with them
Even if I have, how can I? I am struck in my fate I cannot fathom
My friend must be missing me or maybe now I am forgotten
Like her, Some day, other friends too will have their moms to love them

But me....?

You are a wonderful story teller. I would love to be able to read and understand something written in your native language. I can only imagine the untold beauty of your verses.
