We The People

Where are the dreams, the hopes, the ideals this country was founded on,
Where are the words that in our darkest hour gave us the hope
And strength to carry on.
We the people does not stand for a select few,
It is a promise and goal for all
A chance where our dreams come true

From the snow covered fields at Valley Forge to the rice patties in Viet Nam
The spirit of those men who came before us
Lead us to bravely carry on
We watched in sadness as we say our final goodbyes
Thinking in our minds and hearts how did this happen and WHY

It’s not too late we can make it change
We the people can bring those ideals and hopes back again
To start with a single hope that becomes a reality
And we the people will no longer be just words
They will be again our country
