We Live Life So Fast

at breakneck speeds escaping ourselves in distress avoiding voids breaking silences fearing motionlessness afraid to be alone with our feelings with what’s inside deep within afraid it might engulf us implode on us realizing we’ve lived a lie afraid to face the unknown to fall into that abyss as ominous as the fear of finding a tinsel of godliness AP: 1st place 2022 Submitted on April 25, 2018 for contest END APRIL STANDARD sponsored by BRIAN STRAND - RANKED 1ST

Lotsa great phrases in here. You must have been saving them up. Tied it all together into a crafty, winning verse. Congratulations. Sorry, I gotta run!

Congratulations Line on this win. Such great truths in this, we are the age of motion. There was a time I could never be alone... now I treasure those times. This is definitely a fave for me.

Escaping ourselves. That is DEEP! Realizing we've lived a lie. PROFOUND! Fearing Motionlessness. TRUE, Line, so true! Poignant and true. Good luck in the contest, Line.

Very profound and truly on point regarding the psychology of some people. It reminds me of my Monoku stating that many who wish to find themselves are too afraid of being lost. I suspect this write flowed easily on to paper, that your muse insisted upon it! All the best ... CayCay

So true, Line...At age 22, just after graduating college, I vowed NOT to live life the way you so aptly described the way we live it...then at age 37 found myself, vow broken, in mid-life crisis...Well, since then, I haven't lived life too fast---and I consider myself the luckiest man on earth. I really do, and I really am...No fear here, dear!! :) gw
