We Have No Crystal Ball
We have no crystal ball to tell
No prophecy
Since we closed the door on God
In imperceptible ways
Denial has become an invisible thing
The modern unique lie
No statistics
For what is random fills the universe
And what we know
Are like footsteps on the moon
A certainty
In a sea of ambiguity
We are under the spell of thought's invincibility
Take your chance on death row
Justice is still a guess
The stock market still can't show
Anything but contrived success
The bubble is coming
The ballooon burst for children's glee
Science was right
Thou shall not predict where random things change
Sense is all we have left
Sliding the slope of sin pants bottom worn
We are always naked behind
Where we are coming from
We have no crystal ball to tell.
So how can you argue
About this shrinking of my space
This minimizing of man
In the borderless space
Was not suppose to be like this
Where the individual was coming back again
To play the role of God
I am not he
But the longing will not go away
Where he is absolute and eminent yet
I want to be
Something better than these synthetic men
How comes the omnipresent one
Rules not every space in a shrivelled world
We have no crystal ball to tell
