We Cannot Agree

We cannot truly all agree. Tall talk of freedoms free and fair or ones that we will never see - toss them all about everywhere. Sharing equal rights makes us fuss, trip over egos in the rough. Then who will save the least of us, when we find enough is enough? Queries affront reality: women's birth rights are just their own, no law from one sole deity. Should science rule our earth alone? So many issues flow and sway, let us pray for some kinder way. 10/8/21 85 words Sonnet

I only wish more could conclude the same thing and set aside the anger and vitriol. The tribal politics is definitely in the way. Your kind and insightful critique is most appreciated.

Your support is so appreciate. It is sad that we cannot agree on these issues and others. It hobbles our union. Thank you for your comment.

A sonnet to make me think over Greg - the best sort if you ask me. :) I'm probably going off key a little here but your poem has prompted me to think more about the art of debate, the art of listening and the art of compromise and how they are all slowly being eroded in our "I reckon I'm right so you must be wrong" society. We need to slow down, breathe in and think before responding. I enjoyed the read. Cheers - Gary

I am struck by how well you understand this Gary. I hold political office and this inability to think weighs heavy on me now. My voters are confused and frozen in place as this slow coup crosses our nation. It's a challenge of principle and I have a responsibility to act appropriately. Your comments help and support me that I may be pointed properly. Thank you.
