Notes About The Poem
Indian philosophical works

We Are Stuff As Dreams Are Made On

A bird in hand is worth two in the woods
Teaches us to take care not to be greedy
In the air, quite very easy to build castles
The water and the image are not a reality.

The image of sky and pool, even the wood
This material world is, philosophically, illusion.
We know the way to create imaginary world
We humans can not dispense with illusion.

Now slowly taking the hands apart or aside
The water, the image will disappear soon
It was just an illusion in one’s mind created
We live immersed in dreams and illusion.

“We are stuff as dreams are made on and
Our little life is, with a sleep, surrounded”*

It is why we created gods, to take care of our very human failings. Illusions that we can live by. Very inspiring poetry dear Dr.

God spoke his words and called us into existance. He created us in his image and through our words we create new realities. All around us we build new realities from our words. Evidenced in buildings, art, relationships, vehicles, planes, electronics, science and all manner of inventions. I like this poem because it causes me to think.

Hi Doc! makes the true meaning of "Maya" believable to have you, once more, stop by my humble attempt at poetry.....good will prevail. if time permits....just havin' you with us here at "soup" makes things right...Maya....tho every moment since time began....death evolves all......man's unceasing struggle to survive makes our short time worthy....God Bless You Doc! jimbo
