Watching a Sunset
autumn sky
color and light
before dark
summer day lingers
soft twilight
pushes away night
sunlight splinters
waves of darkening sky
settling seabirds
sky reveals
bright seas
heralding dark
forest roof darkens
sun streaks the horizon
bitten edges
day lingers
at twilight
ushers in the night
sun sinks beneath sky
air borne silence
deeper than night
