War of Opposites
A quietude came over me.
Not unlike stars on the tip of a Blackbird's
beak;
Not unlike the Blackbird, unaware of it's beauty,
Not unlike stars, shining either way.
Good, bad, day and night.
Opposites that once fought hard, vanquished in a sea of delight,
--by the cold of some foggy dawn.
With this in mind,
I drew the longest breath I could.
And for the sake of dew and bark
on my lips,
unclenched my fist and let God go.
