WAR

Tumult and chaos reign around us Gushes of water spill from shattered roofs unto bodies Water does not heal the wounds of besieged people suffering ln the distance music of two misplaced cellos seek solace War of and by men is folly and a mistake men in power should know by now that war is not good for men, women, children, the old, the beasts, in fact, all countries on earth there are no good wars anymore Swans gracefully fly through the sky looking to find shelter from a torturous journey people as swans seek respite from life’s long fall into war’s hellish nightmare rest, precious rest, defies us all Bombs in phallus-shaped containers whistle a warning from above we huddle tight fearing the incoming explosive horrors they bring many bombs come with a barrage sending fire to light up the sky shells without mercy pummel the countryside mercilessly War is hell, reporters on the front lines write to experience it is a horrendously tragic shock to the social fabric leaders who order strikes that kill and maim should be there to witness the toll they take heads of state should be on the ground to see just how calloused they really are Little is said about the upper echelon of military people who get the accolades and medals and much less is said about the politicians that approve the money while denying school lunches to children and medical care for everybody this priority is wrong for all the hideous reasons Much has been written about war and its harm to all living things and more needs to be said though it’s been said a million times before still we don’t learn lessons handed down by wise sages immemorial and like children we play with fire until we burn the place down Or nuke ourselves to extinction.
