Wandering Soul

A speckle of light
appears in the dark
barely visible to eye sight
it is always there.
I think it is my grandmothers
wandering soul
here for some purpose
what for I don't know.
I can still feel her presence
like she'd never left
I can still smell her essence
still feel her warm breath.
She speaks to me at night
while I rest in bed
replaying old home movies,
memories in high def.....
I miss her so much
so much I can't bear.
I miss listening to her stories
while she brushes my hair.
She's a ghost wandering aimlessly
with unfinished business to redeem
and when her time expires,
I'll again wish her godspeed.

Hi Jared This poem really touched me today because it brought back memories of my mom when she was still alive and even after she earned her wings so she could soar and fly.,Thank you for sharing your heart strings through your soul prints in poetry with all of us here in the poetry community because I thoroughly enjoyed my visit today. Please stop by and read (The empty chair next to your bed) Because I think you may appreciate it as much as I have appreciated this poem, God bless you, Dean

Very nice written piece of poetry, Jared! When my grandfather died in 1951, there was abutterfly leaving the room and it was in Decembr, so always when I see a certain species of butterflies they remind me of my grandpa...Thank you for your comment, my friend and have a good week!...Gert
