Walking the Shoreline

the surf relentlessly pounding
always teasing the shore
leaving hints of its mystery
treasures, bits of sea lore

now I walk this lonely shoreline
the gulls follow my trail
tasting the salts of yesterday
on the wind dreams set sail

Barbara, I love the fourth line....brings back memories of my early teens when I lived on an island off of the coast of British Columbia, Canada. My brother and I spent wonderful days searching the beach for 'treasures and bits of sea lore'. Hugs, Kimberly
