A very emotive monoku David and one that has got me thinking. I personally believe that any poet who uses AI is disrespecting themselves and - unless they add an acknowledgement that they have used it - disrespecting readers too. They would certainly be disrespecting Poetry Soup who do not allow its use and specify so when poems are submitted. Cheers - Gary

It’s going on Gary, but the worse part is the same people are commenting on them, saying how beautiful these poems rammed full of adjectives are, and how we should embrace them, see the interjection on SVs comment below by one of their handlers, cheers David

Needed saying, David. I’ve dug deep into one individual on these boards. All I can say is, “He’s ‘unreal’ man.” Seems he’s not alone. Fortunately, no one actually does have their brains in their bot, so sooner or later these ‘people’ slip up.

I guess I am butting in, I dont really know you David and your poem is written well. I don't know exactly what A1 is. Hadn't ever heard of it til yesterday. Guessing its a computer generated comment. Never used it, but if I like a poem, I enjoy giving an eloquent comment to an eloquent poem. or a funny answer to a funny poem. Freedom should be the key to poetry. If one needs to use a computer generated comment does it really matter? No one has to read what they don't like. Must be better things to grumble about. Hey heck if we don't like them at their worst, we don't deserve them at their best. Unlax enjoy. You certainly created a piece that generated interest David Well done. Love the title.

Heya SV this one is intended for the AI poems that have been popping up on the soup recently, they are basically meaningless poems with tons of superfluous adjectives, its obvious to many of us they are written by AI Chatbots, still some (mostly the same people) are commenting on them saying they are beautiful, and we should encourage them more, no thanks I’ll stick with the real poets like yourself and many others, cheers David

Is this a AI poet...I'm still in the dark here. (collect bits of text encountered anywhere at all, and with a little editing stitch the pieces together to form a collagelike poem) I just cut and pasted this! Cuz I'm guilty of that at times with articles still pending, waiting for me to rhyme! If I'm still doing it 15 yrs from now just shoot me!

Heya Anaya, yeah I’m all good, apparently using AI poems is illegal, but I don’t really care about that, it’s more the people saying we should embrace these (AI poets), I find insulting and have a problem with, no I’m not quite back yet, hopefully a few more weeks, cheers David

We can’t swallow what we think is unworthy of being complimented. I’ve stopped reading line after line of distracting alliteration and rainbow colored cotton candy lines that go on and on until I’ve forgotten what the ‘poem’ was intended to be about. This is my opinion and I’m as entitled to it as those who disagree with me.
