In a sense, this Auden is a new one for me. I had forgotten it, truth be told, 'til I rediscovered it in the autobiography of Dr. Oliver Sacks (the 'Awakenings' doctor played by Robin Williams), titled 'On the Move.' Dr. Sacks was as literarily gifted as he was medically brilliant. Thanks, Line, and warmest wishes, Gershn

Thank you for introducing him to me. I have several books of poetry that Harold Bloom has put together and somehow he missed Hugh. Have a great night my friend.

Yes! A truly wonderful quote. I found it quite moving when I first read it,...and I stumbled on it this afternoon again, reading the autobiography of Dr. Oliver Sacks, the 'Awakenings' doctor on whom that Robin Williams film is based. I recommend that book highly too, by the way. Thanks again!! :) gw
