Two adults and six kids jammed into a VW beetle. We could have been the poster family for their commercial. Driving twenty-five miles into town and back for Sunday mass. What an excursion. Singing was involved. It was fun right up until dad got the scare of his life and almost hit a pedestrian. That’s when he decided he was doing more than enough driving during the week and weekends were made for staying home and safe. home sweet home with both feet rooted in bliss posted on October 26, 2020

Such a lovely scene you painted Line. My son had a beetle when younger it was bright pink and had the back seat removed with an amazing sound system installed. It was considered very cool and all the girls loved it, haha. Years later he saw a picture of it in a skateboard magazine and wished he had kept it. They are such iconic cars and your poem brings back some happy memories. With kindest thoughts Ann xx

Your poem made me smile Line, as we had several beetle cars - the last one was a bronzy gold colour she was called Bessie Beetle:-) hugs jan xx
