Voldemort, By Contrast, Was Vanquished Easily

Changed climate is not a surprise
With drilling for gas on the rise
Where can life forms hide
From carbon dioxide
And methane let loose in the skies?

Neo-druids auger gas wells
And add fluids with sulfurous smells!
Are poisons they've tapped
With their magic wands trapped
Evermore by sorcerous spells?

Votes and news seem not relevant
The unrelenting elephant
In all our best rooms
Is fossil fuel's fumes
And toxins we can't circumvent

Your poems are so interesting and thought provoking. I love the honesty and reality of your work. Here we are four years in the future, and it seems to me that the conditions we face are about the same--perhaps worse. Thank-you for being here and being a kind and generous soul. It is not hidden.

Jon, you are most kind. I am beginning to realize that our goal in life should not be monumental, but rather to be gone at the end with little to no impact on anything. Leave it the way you found it--a camper's rule.

You too dear sunshine. You are so very funny!! I just read two of your poems that are on opposite ends of a spectrum. I like going back and seeing what I was thinking in 2012. Things are moving ahead at full speed--and few are looking out the window at what is coming.

I was expecting Harry Potter and instead I was treated to the magic of your words. Well done and important subject for us all to ponder.

It's not getting any better at least in this country. Ironically, it's from a lack of willingness on the part of both parties to deal with reality. It's more about who is in power since they are all corrupted by $. We will keep getting away with it until we can't.

David, yes it is. Seems that things haven't changed for the better since 2012. A tough nut to crack. It would require a change in the way we all live and what we want. It seems there is a craving for more, but what do we really need and want? Perhaps the best thing is to leave no lasting trace of our lives at all. To have no environmental impact so that the next generation can have a place too.

A late thank-you Terry. I saw your latest. It's right on target! What a corrupt world we live in. While the bad news has accelerated, there are some interesting opportunities on the horizon, but the culture of consuming is hard to balance.
