Voices

Voices in the wind –
What are they saying?
Whispering round my window,
Howling through the night.
Do they come with a message?
Yes, I hear voices
Disturbing, but comforting.
I don’t feel alone –
Not with the wind is a friend,
Even though he howls,
At least I know he’s there
And I’m alive,
Otherwise, in the quiet of the night,
For all I know, I might be dead.
