Voices

When cover of a book teases us to pry
Courted we're by sound of their voices:
Writers, creators, poets, and scholars--
Inviting us to virtues of wisdom inside.

If we can hear the sound of galleries
And the renaissance of cultural history
Wowed by music, sculptures, and paintings
We are attuned to the voices of artists.

When strings strum atop a music box
Cadence that moves us is voice of guitar,
Singer then bends the voice of lyrics
As we respond to the rhythm of music.

Emotions rile in disharmonious voices
Uttered by traffic, streets, and buildings
Contrasting soft tunes of rustling leaves
And whispered voices of whistling winds.

Voices are poems, feelings, and smiles
Tears and fears or trumpets of joy;
Sopranos singing of victories and defeats,
Agents of goodwill or messengers of cries.

If I close my eyes, I can feel the melody. I still love this thought. "Voices are poems, feelings, and smiles" It is amazing how a poem is born, simply through the heart of the poet. Congratulations Vijay, on this win. :) Brandy

How could I not answer the call of exquisite "Voices" and not respond! Even with a heavy schedule and call of duty, I find myself following the whispers, "respond to the rhythm of music" and "be attuned to the voices of" an artist of grandeur! How could I not accept the invitation of a gifted and a highly talented poet to "virtues of wisdom" in his very "Voices"! Overwhelmingly beautiful and fascinating are your rubies dear Vijay! What words could I find to honour and reward such a Beauty!

For those who are able to shut out the harsh voices that surround us, it becomes even more easy to distinguish other voices which keep us continuous company; after all even silence has a voice of its own! This poem speaks volumes, Vijay. Regards // paul
