as andrea said a few lines off on syllable count, but i really like the poem itself - this is why i'm not keen on restricted syllable form, it can push a very good poem far lower than it should be...congrats on your placement anyway :)

Thanks Charlotte and Andrea for comments and encouragement :) .. my first attempt at Andrea's format, and not as easy as I thought. I think I got it right in the second one I tried.. called "LAMPS" ( about backstreet abortion).. but I had already submitted this one ~~X~~
