Visit to Heaven
I dreamed I went to heaven,
And didn't even know...
All that I knew was there was joy,
In that place, where I did go.
Joyful, I saw my sister,
Barbara, there with me!
Our sister Nancy pondered,
Near a lovely Christmas Tree.
I heard a voice in the next room,
I hurried in...to stare...
At brother, downward talking,
To someone, who wasn't there.
He was looking down and speaking,
"Remember...?" This or that...
And telling funny quips and jokes
Upon old happenstance.
I turned and asked my sister,
"Who is he talking to?"
For I was truly puzzled,
I really had no clue.
"He's speaking to his daughter."
She casually replied,
My voice then concerned whisper,
"Oh my gosh, she hasn't died!?"
She gave a little chuckle,
Shaking her head, no,
And gave me THAT big sister look...
'Oh, silly Betty Jo!'
"But she's not here, she can't hear him."
I spoke again, concerned.
My brother paused from speaking,
As to me he turned,
"Yes, my daughter hears me."
He emphatically replied,
Then continued conversation...
Had I but comprehended,
His Heavenly abide.
The next part of my dream,
I walked most gleefully,
Off to meet my father,
And other family.
Excited for to show them gifts
Someone had given me,
Three old-style fountain pens
And three lovely golden keys.
I looked back to look upon
The house where I'd just left,
A Large and lovely Palace Home
On a hill without one cleft.
Before me lay a grassy field with
People everywhere!
Strolling, resting, sitting,
True Peace filled the atmosphere.
A heavenly dream,
Such joy and love,
There dwelt no tear nor pains...
I've wakened now,
And yet, that dream
In me, it still remains.
I am certain, up in Heaven,
Love has conquered death's
Cold chains.
Where Christ welcomes His Children,
To His Kingdom,
Where He reigns.
'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.'
~John 3:16 King James Version~
"...I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
~John 14:3-6 New King James Version~
'Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.'
~Hebrews 12:1-2 King James Version~
