Vision At Dusk
Evening sun dipping beneath yonder horizon
Casts surreal pirouetting hazy shadows across my face,
My mind wandering trancelike into an ethereal
Vision, escaping time and unreal space while I dozed
Dreamlike into an imaginary world where I saw
Exquisite gardens of multi-colored daisies waving,
And among them I saw shadowy creatures gliding
Which I knew were angels from fleeting ages past
Tending plantings of the Lord’s exquisite spring.
Though strangely familiar to me, I could not see their faces
Or discern their names; they were surely ancestors
Who loved the sweet smells of flowers--just as I do.
