Vision
I close my eyes and imagine
The world I have not ever seen;
It is darkness, dreary darkness
As never it could have been less.
Whether it is dusk or divine dawn,
Whether midday or early morn
Coveys to me no difference
As I muse in my blind silence.
For me days and nights are alike;
Bereft of my vision and sight
I can`t construe the gleams of light,
But I bear no grudge for my plight.
While musing, my lips impart faint smiles,
My soul is ablaze for a while,
My inner self is full of light
And I am transformed with delight.
I thank the Lord that I am alive,
I thank the Lord that I can survive,
I can move around without fear
With a white rod that I can bear.
Let none cast a grain of pity:
I would rather forsake my eyes
Than be devoid of a soul in me
That provides me wings to soar high
And reach the gate of Divinity
Where lies the seeds of eternity.
Exodus 4:11
`The Lord asked him :"Who has made the man`s mouth? Or who has made him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?"`
