It's funny how you say his name as goff instead of go. Maybe we Americans are doing it wrong. Anyway. It's great seeing this one featured again.

Jan, I appreciate your support for my Flash Poetry Challenge (10). Your poem was randomly chosen to be featured in my 'Results' blog, which is now up and running. Your Clerihew is not only humorous but also educational. Well done!

Congrats on your top win with your Van Gogh clerihew Jan! It's sad he was never to know how well loved he would someday be. Hugs ~ John

A BIG congrats on your win, Jan! History is full of such stories--after painter, writer . . . dies, sometimes poverty-stricken, the heirs make millions off their works! Janice

Hi Jan, was looking for some examples of Clerihew form poems and came across this one of yours, this is a great example and helps me to understand the form so that I can now make an informed comment on other entries, regards, Kevin xx

Jan, I can see why you won the contest on this one!! Van Gogh is one of my favorites for sure. Beautifully done and rendered in the Clerihew format. (And thanks for mentioning the European pronunciation of Van Gogh as "Van Goff" -- most people are unaware of this!!) What can I say, but a "7" and "FAV" from me for really nice poem!! Best Wishes, Gary

The pronunciation of words can be a difficulty and it was suggested to me I change the word - hence the reason I based the rhyme on the way the British say Van Gogh:-) hugs Jan xx

Hee heeee, great one, Jan. Congrats. Van Gogh once sat in a bar when a pal came in and asked if he'd like a drink. He replied, "No thanks, I've got one ear". Viv x
