Vile Man
Of all the vile and wild creatures
Walking on planet earth
Man is the vilest and wildest.
A serpent will not come knocking on your door
Armed with a machete or a gun or a grenade
And knock down your teeth or maim or kill
But man will rape, plunder, kill and mutilate
Even the unborn, the crawling and the crying
For man, innocence is no excuse, no defence
I saw him fell a tree with a thousand nestlings
And thousands of un-hatched eggs to boot
For he needs to fell the tree so that he
Can have a playground there at that very spot
Where a life lies breathing but soon to die!
These cattle egrets have been here for years
These trees have been here five decades or
More precisely longer than you can imagine
Housing and protecting these lovely birds
That now have to search the horizon
For a new home, a new habitation
For vile man will not let them be!
