Victoria's Secret's out; it's plain to see: the catwalk girls all live on celery They love their carrot sticks, a sheer delight Those Angels are themselves like feathers; light A gust of wind might make those models fall they try to strut their stuff, but where's it all? Where are the curves Monroe was famous for? Would VS simply show her out the door? Would she not get to sport her angel wings Be sidelined just because she'd not wear strings? her curvy hips would sashay as she'd walk I tell you all, this needs to be The TALK Those VS girls set standards way too high To starve yourself to be them, you can try I think for me Ashley and Tess will do Victoria's Secret Show, well, shame on YOU! Give "normal" girls the chance to walk and prance Us bigger girls deserve to have this chance We need to show that sexy has no size The secret's out: the plus girls are the prize!!

Ok, nothing wrong with setting standards, but not by going to extremes. People's perceptions change; long ago the ideal woman had to be on the large side. Enjoyed the way you presented your argument, Eileen:) Hugs // paul

Great poem Eileen! I've been skinny; I've been fat; now I'm "old." I'd settle for skinny or fat.

Yes, dear....I so agree with you, "We come in all shapes and sizes." There should be equal opportunity for all. Thank you for your kindness and understanding, sweetie. Hugs

Hi Eileen, I loved this honest write. I really don't have a problem with those thin as wind VS girls. What I have a problem with is the media and society trying to pass them off as "representatives"of all girls. NOT. We come in all shapes and sizes . Not what they represent. Kudos to you for penning real and honest writes my friend. Well done. A without a doubt seven:-) Alexis

As I recall, Marilyn Monroe was a size 12. Heck, nothing wrong with being a little snitty. Once in a while I think it's good to just let out a big, pure snit of snittishness.

Thanks, Doug. I guess the big girl in me just wants to be a little snitty. I'm sorry. It does get to me though. Oh well....at least I have poetry to comfort me. Thanks for the visit.

Well said Eileen - these stick insect models are a bad role model for young girls and of course many photos are air brushed to make them look even more 'perfect':-( hugs Jan xx
