white dream in verdant green
bridal veil in great assail
rising from rainforest steam
as speckled owl wail
white steam in rocky stream
a train of roaring lace
penetrates the verdant scene
falling, falling with such grace
wet, cold moss beneath heat
belonging to a black earth
pull it up and you have peat
smell the richly verdant worth
ferns lean in verdant green
while humidity socks
nature’s own sauna scene
among the turgid hot rocks
slimy stones and slithery throng
gather by the water’s flow
the macaw adds its hooping song
to the lush green world below
