Vast Oceans Must Last

I love watching documentaries of nature,
Full of enchanting momentous adventure,
But my favourite by far is the ocean,
As it beckons and teasingly invites us
To look at a world we could never
Imagine, serene, silent, secretive,
Spectacular, incredible, and daring,
In a magical way breathtakingly alluring,
My heart resides with the passionate,
Who proudly, and painstakingly
Dive and venture into oceans and
Waters unknown, allowing us to peep,
Into an azure Aqualand, insanely so deep,
Where incredible species of fish and
Outrageous phenomenal plant life,
Astonish and mesmerize human life,
Never to bid us farewell,
As stories spanning eras magically spell,
Bound us, invoke fantasies back to
The beginning of time when galaxies
Looked down and with infectious delight,
Smiled wisely upon our planet
With a knowing, futuristic magnetic,
Mischievousness, enjoying it’s
Confounding aesthetic
Layers of anonymity, of underwater history
Until finally one beautiful day,
Pandora’s box opens revealing to us our
Oceans mystery.
I marvel at knowledge collected,
Intensely reported and documented,
So please don't pollute our oceans so vast,
And promise to keep such, forever to last.

Jennifer, you have written some very profound poetry here. You have crafted a very helpful piece of advice and therefore beautifully discussed the dangers presented by pollution... It was fantastic... Influential indeed

I really think these documentaries of the beauty of the ocean should be shown in schools to motivate the children to not want to pollute. They should also show what plastics and other debris float on the ocean polluting and killing sea life. Things like that make an indelible impression on a child’s mind and they grow up wanting to save sea life. I love your poem Jennifer. Blessings xxoo

Yes yes I wholeheartedly agree ! Our magical mystical oceans must be protected Jennifer . For they are the life source of our planet , amazing undersea wildlife and plants and corals . So alive with depth and darkness below and new life abounding each and every day . I don’t ever tire of the underwater world ! Thank you for this beautiful poem and your insight into our vast oceans ! Hugs to you , Susan :)

The pollution of our waters is horrible to think about. So many just use our natural resources and abuse them and never give back. People like that to me are like a parasite which feeds off the host until it dies. A fine write my friend. God Bless, JB
