Vaness Williams - the Once Miss America

The news said "Vanessa's nudity was ****"! She was looked upon with scorn. Helga, however, was said to be beauty and art; No criticism did her nudity impart. Perhaps Vanessa should have posed For an artist with pallet instead of lens, For now, folks just enumerate her "sins"... Or is it because she posed in sepia, The world said to Vanessa, "Got Cha!" No fooling around, give us back your crown! Cynthia

Vanessa Williams was the first African-American Miss America. In her youth she had posed nude for a well known photographer. Years later, after she was chosen as Miss America he showed them and Vanessa was asked to give back the crown. Helga was the lover of the artist and thought to be beautiful as his blonde nude model. cynthia

well, at least she is not hurting for fame or money right now. She went farther than most of those miss america's ever have gone. She is a beautiful woman and her name is one of the few we remember of the Miss america's!! (ironic!) I enjoyed seeing this poem
