Valentine Girl

Valentine Girl

Here’s a little ditty about a Valentine girl.
With flowing red hair and skin like pearl.
Her eyes, baby blue, with a freckled nose,
She was one hot tart, as a fantasy girl goes.
When she looked at me, my jaw hit the floor.
In this game we call love she knew the score.
I sucked in my gut and tried to look cool.
Who was I kidding, for I felt like a fool.
Still, I decided to give it a go.
I mean what’s the worst that can happen. She could only say no.
My legs quivered like Jell-O, yet I managed to walk.
I stopped casually beside her then tried to talk.
Hi! I said and then I went blank.
Nothing more came out and I figured my ship sank.
To my surprise, she took my hand,
For little did I know she had her own plan.
She led me to the dance floor and we started to groove.
I held her close to me in a passionate move.
We swayed, as we danced not speaking a word.
Of all those around us, we never even heard.
Heart to heart and hand in hand, it’s two that walk out the door.
For in the game of love as in life, No one need ever keep score.
So it was with my truest love, her hand grasping mine.
That this day was the first of many; and nothing can be more Valentine.
