Notes About The Poem

Valentine

Candy hearts speaking loves intent,
bouquets of flowers, fragrant scent,
chocolate treats taste so sweet,
romantic meals a lovers treat.

Cards abound in tender verse,
one day a year love’s universe.
With vows once made renewed, confirmed,
in offered love to be affirmed.

If words of love were shared all year,
a need for special day unclear.
Though fine the pomp and circumstance,
my needs are simple, shared romance.

A tight warm hug I find just fine,
a kiss, “I love you, Valentine.”
