Upon the Wings of Angels

The North Beach.... Strolling down the bustling sidewalks, along the embarcadero; tourist and visitors, from everywhere A break from the recent rains; as the sun sheds down its warmth, to kiss our brows Just ahead Pier 39, and Fishermans Wharf; amid all of the attractions, sights and sounds As I glance toward the Alcatraz; this solitary rock, rising from the sea And then the Golden Gate; a serene picture of precious, embedded inside of me.... Memories, hopes, calling; as my thoughts then bend, a circle within the sky Upon the wings of Angels, whom smile, as they carry this love for you, inside! A piercing within my soul, now, that brings a slight chill unto myself.... Wondering, how you are doing? As I envision your graceful presence, amid my prayers Beckoning them with a heart of wishful wanting; a silent plea, to bring your glory here Near~to be by my longing legato side! Never truly knowing, if that day shall ever be? If the desires which I have dreamn't, were really meant for me? To ponder the perhaps; while I open this portal door ~ A gleam filling my eyes, with the shining of your tender touch.... Now holding my hand; as I taste the flowers of your fragrance; a velvet rose Soothing my spirit; this light of your splendor, beginning to pour before me now My consolation prize, within this stirring yet staggered moment, in time This slow, but lovely dance~After the mid-night bell, has chimed its silkened chord.... Silver laced crossings, above the aquamarine currents; atop the mast, of the Red Fleet sailing Sitting course amongst the telling tides, as I peer beyond the distance Conversing with silhouetted echoes; whom whisper into my ear gently, your endless charm! "Take me there, please," I beseech them, "make me not wait any longer?" End this bittersweat passage, and sit our star of destined; maybe!? High within the heavens, for all of eternity, to forever see...." "Excuse me;" a voice interrupts my thoughts; "but do you know where the wax museum might be?" Smiling as I say, "Yes, its just down the street" Eyes looking skyward, within this searchiing reflection, as another call, then comes in.... "I'll be right there I answer," as I peer beyond the horizon, yet still, once again Always thinking of you; as I cast myself upon the open waters; toward the world, in which you are.... Blowing another tangerine kiss into the breeze~"Please, take this to her beauty, evermore!" Upon, the wings of Angels ~

A superb write John, most impressive. Wonderfully colourful imagery which carries the muse lightly away with it, almost as if being touched by angels as you read. Lovely heartfelt emotion which uplifts and generates a vision of hope in the readers mind... Well done, and keep penning my friend. Kindest thoughts, Anna-Marie.

I am impressed with this beautiful poem. I feel my own inspiration drying up under the harsh sun of economic realities. I cannot panic for I hope to my family, but inside I am crushed with fear. Reading this poem is therapy for me. Blessings from above and love

I love the way you pour your heart and soul into your writing, it is so beautiful. This piece is like a story delivering images of beauty and love to the reader as if it were a novel. It leaves the reader longing to read further and to actually see the angels carrying the kiss. We don't want it to end. "Tangerine Kiss"~so sweet. Smiles from Lolita

This is beautifully thought out John! A pensive piece...tender reflections rendered by these wistfully meandering thoughts. A lovely scene, almost dreamlike, until the "I'll be right there", brings one back into its reality. The "tangerine Kiss into the breeze", still makes it linger. Wishing the best to you, and yours! Blessings...Love to you, Mikki
