I love coming across a monoku, senryu, haiku, verse, etc... that blow my mind in such few words. I cannot help the little side smile that slowly slides up. Thoroughly enjoyed Daniel.

Dear Darlene, it is interesting that pawn shops sell wedding rings so I suppose there is a market. I hope you had a great weekend and I am thankful for your note. Autumn Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

A solemn monoku, Daniel. Reminds me of the sadness of gray divorces. Late September blessings to you and your family, dear poetry friend. ~

Dear Regina, yes you said it well that people 50 and older are splitting after decades of marriage. The problem with young people is that they do not see marriage as an option and would instead partner up for a period of time. We definitely need the Lord! Thank You for your visit! - Autumn Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Dear Kim, Thank you for your visit and comments. I wrote it as a sadness to the day when marriages are no longer a mainstay. Many people are just partnering up and forgoing marriage; therefore, the commitment is for the moment. We need the Lord! - Autumn Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Marvelous, dear friend! This is an awesome monoku with such depth of emotion and expression. Brilliant! There is such pathos in your poem. A friend wrote a song about selling a wedding dress, only worn once. If this is for a contest, best wishes. It looks like a winner to me. Sending you blessings of autumn joy!

Dear Sam, I am so appreciative of your words. It is not for a contest but just sentiments born out of my limbic system. I recognize that marriages are falling to the wayside here in the USA and most people are just partnering up for a period of time. It is sad to see and maybe commitments are no longer a thing. Thanks again, Sam, for your amazing visits. - Autumn Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

I don't think I've read a Monoku from you before this one. You should write them more often. I've become addicted to writing them in rhyme, but seem to have lost my yen for it lately. Someone else's sad wedding ring memories, I'll not bid on. I've too many of my own.

Dear Lin, thank you! I have written a number of Haikus and Monokus but have not posted them and they will slowly get up here on PS. I love the challenge to say a lot without saying a lot. It is sometimes as hard as writing the longer poems. I am always appreciative of your comments and poems. Blessings, My Friend, Daniel

Lol. This made me smile. The price is so high that I wonder if the tradition of buying rings should be shelved.

Dear Hilda, Thank you! Here in the USA marriages are diminishing greatly and even partners do not stay together long. I wanted to see if I could say that with an emotional appeal. Thanks Again! - Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Hello John, Early in my life, I was almost engaged twice and it was quite traumatic for it not to have happened. Then along came my beautiful wife, who has blessed me and our family for 42+ years. Thanks for reading and someday I would like to know your story. - Blessings, My Friend, Daniel
