Notes About The Poem

unpaid thoughts

satisfaction is always provisional

I’m happy, my life is full of somethingnesses
I want nothing and have everything.

Well, not everything and not all at once.
Even broad joy needs disclaimers, I suppose.

Truth be told, I’d like a rare porterhouse steak or a pizza about now.

You can get anything with WiFi
Well, with WiFi and a compute device.
Ok, WiFi, a compute device, and money.
Dang, WiFi, a compute device, the Internet and money.
Jesus! WiFi, a compute device, the Internet, a passkey or two,
and money.
It’s funny how necessities tend to grow - like a bill.

That could be a systems-check for joy.

On the downside, I suppose there are things you can’t get,
like, true love, time, discretion, taste and meaning.

I’m not sure how I stumbled into philosophy.

While I was thinking about it, I turned to Peter (my bf) and told him:
“I could break-up with you, but never with capitalism.”

I’ve found that honesty can be self-incriminating

He just looked at me.

“I’ve an emotional attachment to self-interested acquisitioning,”
I confessed.

“I’m shocked,” he reported.

I think infrastructure is the real protagonist here.

These were unpaid, unsponsored thoughts.

How about bf and porterhouse with Coke Zero? Should be enough. :-)

Diet sodas are worse than sugar - I prefer Orangina. I’ll take a steak with my bf any day. =]

I can’t think of anyone else I’d rather have: WiFi, a compute device, the internet, a passkey, money, and Peter (your bf) than you. YOU enjoy them SO much it makes ME happy. . Well, I wouldn’t mind a little bit more money, and a girlfriend too, I guess. And maybe less late-stage capitalism. But otherwise, I’m good. <3

If there weren't things that we wanted, what would we do with our time? We wouldn't need go to school or anything. Capitalism is the best system, but it needs to be well regulated. I largely blame the Republicans for where we are today.
