Unhappy Valentine's Day

This Valentine’s, cupid may fail
No flowers or cards in the mail
Our postie called Mike
Joined colleagues on strike 
Their actions are beyond the pale!

Our postal workers started a strike today – I’ve read they are delivering postal flowers but there will be no other post for 3 days. I’m lucky we don’t bother with the day but I know many will be upset. Poetic licence used our postie isn't called Mike!

Shame on those posties who spread gloom across the land! I love great lims, Jan, and this is a GREAT one! Glad you liked the St Pats day write. I would venture to say most of us in the colonies have a tad of Irish in us. I do. I've traced back & we originated in N. Humberland & Southern Scotland; immigrated to Erin; got kicked out of there and landed in North Carolina! Bob

Sounds like a Donald Trump valentine, but valentines are best delivered by hand. Try the nearest pub for steak and kidney pie to warm your heart! Aloha! Rico

I know that will make many sad who won't get their Valentine's card from their loved ones. Really bad timing. A great Limerick that expresses that sadness. Happy Valentine's Day my friend! xxoo

Ohhhh sucky. Great limerick! We had postal strike threaten before Christmas, I was working as a bike courier when they did years back, crazy! I think it's funny too I just posted "the best V..." ;) Happy VD Jan! xomo!
