Ungraspable

There might be a time
A flash-thought moment -
The Bear is aligned with something or other
And this sudden smell of lilacs
On a see-forever day -
When things come together
Only for the briefest
The entire universe
All things visible
And invisible
Become ONE
Just for one second
Then are gone
And you sense the steering wheel of your car
Marvelling!
Of all the souls in stupendous creation
YOU have been chosen
Wonderful!
Marvelous!
But then.....................................
Another flash-moment
A large bug splatters your windshield

The profundity, yet the ordinariness of our lives...shows how significant, yet unsignificant we are. The irony...I love it! Well done, Daver. Donna G.

The last line caught me by surprise. Creative way to end this poem. Much to think about here. Thank you for sharing your poem with us and for taking time to comment on mine. Keep on writing! Karen

Hey there, souper Dave! no sweat about the karen thing, I've done that before, myself! lol as for lamplight - actually, it is an intorspection of myself, as I have so much insecurity left over from the trauma I endured as a child, that i often feel naked and exposed when I'm looked at too closely - I wrote this with the image of myself standing before someone, like I'm naked in all senses, and how thatr makes me feel so vulnerable. anyway, hope that helps! Love, K

Daver, this is awesome! I have been there, done that, felt that, lived that, and come through the other side on the steering wheel as well - excellent way to describe the feeling of being, truly! Well done, my talented friend! Love, Kristin
