Lately, perhaps due to aging, I find myself thinking about past pleasures; the little things I'd all but forgotten. Like my first trek in the woods, feeling one with Nature unshackled from the hands of time. Nature nurtured my curiosity, and I reflect on innocence lost. In my youth, I was ignorant of the truth and had to feel my way through a minefield of lies. Every day was like an ongoing epic, filled with adventure, wonder, and play. Once in a while, late at night, as I fall asleep, I find myself perusing memories, recalling a smile or a tear, usually both; often simultaneously. And I ponder on the fact that in my simplified world, I lived unfettered and free. And I spent the rest of my life trying to recapture a feeling; that I will never feel again.

This is going into my FAV file, Emile. I love this, especially the last four lines. I think, as I grow older, words like yours resonate more soundly with me. Good work.
