Understated

i lost you in
the first moment of
flutterstop heartbeats
and some imagined kiss

anticipation kills
and my twinkle died
within you
stirring nowhere but
in the hatred that poured down cheeks
on which my fingertips once danced

give me nothing
but one moment to cry (you
need these tears you do)
give me everything
in one sincere smile (in a
gaze not drowning in sorrow)
give me life
with a breath (that comes out
as mine in close enough to taste you)

and in that breath
the depth of sky height of ocean
pain of the happiness
i almost forgot to miss

(but never again)
